Sarsen Trail

Postby Fortytwa » Sat Jan 24, 2009 1:54 pm

Registration for the Sarsen Trail is now available.

3 walking routes

26 miles - Avebury to Stonehenge
11 Miles - Avebury to Redhorn Hill
15 Miles _ Redhorn Hill to Stonehenge

Was like a kid in a sweet shop when my registration form came through this morning. Signing up for the full 26 miles. Younger fortytwa's I think are looking to do 15 mile section

The walk is upon me.

Months of arduous training in the Queens Head and other similar establishments is about to pay off.

Two of the Fortytwa kids are doing the 11 mile section from Avebury to Redhorn Hill. I have the full 26 miles to contend with.

I have got my mind focused on the fact that its a walk of two halfs (11 and then 15). I can easily do 11 miles, I can easily do 15 miles whats the issue

Sarek is cycling from Redhorn hill to Stonehenge - 15 mile route I will be walking behind him

happy days

nice touch with the medals - whats wrong with young sarek - you seem to be either holding him up or offering him as a sacrifice

Dont let the girls anywhere near them - they are not worthy

my photos to follow

26.1 miles in 8 hours 15 minutes. Got bleeding toe nails, impressive blisters all in the last 2 or 3 miles

I had hoped to follow Julia Bradbury round (had she bothered to turn up - how is a guy supposed to stalk a celbrity). anyway was'nt to be.

happy days

Well done both!

Would you know any company that might be able to restore that rather delapidated construction behind yourself & young sarek? :)

You know it makes sense.

here we go again

kids in a sweet shop time - the registration forms have arrived today.

The route in profile

http://newsite.wiltshirewildlifetrust.o ... plate.aspx

I have to say the section from Avebury to Redhorn hill is a lovelly walk. 11 miles over rolling wiltshire countryside.

Going for the full 26 again this year

happy days
